For machine activation, or for registration activation with activation details, the Activate page of the Activate Entitlements process is used to provide the activation details for the activation. The activation details can include:

For machine activation, to display a list of products currently installed on the machine, click the View Summary link.
The fields at the top of the page are used to provide activation parameters. The required information varies based on the configuration and also on the specific process.
For locking IDs, for machine activation, if you have already activated on this machine and provided a specific type of locking ID, the same value is used on subsequent activations. So if you are prompted for a Primary server the first time you activate on a machine, then on the next activation for that machine, Primary server is set to that value.
Whether you can change the value depends on the locking ID configuration.
Below the activation parameters is the list of entitlements to activate, grouped by product line. For machine activation, the list includes a column indicating whether the product already is activated on the machine. If the machine has the product installed, then to see the exact quantities, click the View link.
If you are allowed to set the activation quantity, then the Qty column contains an editable field. Type the quantity to activate. The quantity must be less than or equal to the available quantity.
If you cannot set the quantity, then the quantity to activate is read-only.
Some products require you select the specific instance from among a set of options. Products may have either one or two available parameters for selecting the specific product to activate.
For example, a product may be available in different versions and for different platforms. When you activate an entitlement for that product, you must select the specific version and platform.
If only one parameter (for example, platform) is available, The Options column contains a dropdown containing the list of options.
If you only need to select one instance, then you can just select the appropriate option from the dropdown.
To activate multiple versions:
The Select Options form displays. The Available Qty box displays the total available quantity.
The Activate page is updated to reflect the selected options.
If two parameters are available, the Options column contains a default selection consisting of the first available options (for example, the first version and first platform).
To change the selection, and activate multiple versions:

For some products, the quantity to activate requires a specific value or may be dependent on the quantity of other products.

If the quantity calculator is available, then the toolbar for the entitlement list includes a Use quantity calculator link.
To display the quantity calculator, click the link.
The quantity calculator contains the list of products to activate.
Each row represents a single product. If you are activating multiple entitlements for the same product, then only one row is displayed for that product.
At the top of the form is a check box labeled Show automatically calculated items. If this check box is unchecked, then the list only includes products that you can provide a value for. If the check box is checked, then the list includes all of the products.
The list includes:
| Qty | If you can provide a quantity value, then this column contains an editable text field. If the quantity must be calculated, the field is locked and is populated when the calculation is performed.
If the product has a rule for calculating the quantity, then the column also contains a check box. To remove the product from the quantity calculation, uncheck the check box. If you cannot remove the product from the calculation, then the check box is locked. |

To perform the quantity calculation:
To uncheck all of the check boxes, click the Uncheck All link.
To check all of the check boxes, click the Check All link.
The quantity calculation only provides an estimate. You can still change the quantities to activate on the Activate page, and Poetic will still apply any other validation rules.
If you are allowed to remove items from the activation, then a Remove link displays next to each row.
To remove an item, click the Remove link.
After providing the machine and product activation information, click Next.
The Confirm page of the Activate Entitlements process displays. If the confirmation step is not needed, the Complete page displays. See Confirming and completing the activation.
