Receiving a return

About receiving returns

When an order needs to be physically returned, then when the returned item arrives, the return is received in Poetic.

If the order is only partially received, for example if the items are returned in multiple shipments, then you can specify the partial quantity returned and set the return status to Partially Received until all of the items have been returned.

Searching for and selecting the return to receive

  1. On the Order menu, click Receive return.

    The Search Returns page displays.

    If you belong to an end customer, Poetic automatically searches for and displays the list of authorized returns for your company. The Company name is set to your company and cannot be changed. You can use the remaining search criteria to narrow the list of returns.

    Otherwise, to display a list of authorized or partially received returns, specify search criteria, then click the Search button. See Conducting searches for more information about searches.

  2. Click the radio button next to the return you want to receive, then click Receive Return.

    The Receive Return page displays.

Specifying the details of the receipt

On the Receive Return page:

  1. In the Return Details section, in the Qty Received field for each product, type the quantity that has been received.
  2. From the Receipt action dropdown, if the total quantity has not been received, select Partially Received.

    If the total quantity has been received, select Received Complete

  3. Click Next.

    The Receive Return Confirmation page displays.

  4. Verify the details of the return receipt, then click Finish.

    The Receive Return Complete page displays.
