Splitting an entitlement among a company's groups
You can split an entitlement among groups within the same company.
- When an entitlement is split, the total quantity of the new entitlements, when added together, must be equal to or less than the original quantity of the entitlement. Whatever action is taken on the split entitlement is also done to any linked entitlements.
- If an entitlement created during an automated upgrade job is split, the new entitlements created have the run and job numbers of the original entitlement in their reference numbers.
- An entitlement cannot be split and assigned to a group with an existing entitlement for the same product family.
- If group rules at the product family level are turned on, you can only select from those groups that do not have a matching product family.
- You cannot split entitlements that are child entitlements of a bundle entitlement.
- Depending on the system settings, you cannot assign part of a split entitlement to a group that has a different support level.
- On the Asset menu, click Entitlements.
The Search Entitlements page displays. To display a list of entitlements, provide search criteria, then click Search Entitlements.
If you belong to an end customer, and you are not linked to any other companies, then the search results are restricted to your company.
If you have access to more than one company, then you can use the Company name field to search for entitlements by company.
See Conducting searches for more information about searches.
