Exporting an upgrade job

Before running an upgrade job on a production system, you may want to configure and test it on a test instance. After the testing is complete, you can then move the job on the production instance.

To support this, Poetic allows you to export an automated upgrade job from one instance and import it into another instance.

To export a job, on the Search Automated Upgrade Jobs page:

1. Click the Options link for the job you want to export.
2. In the options list, click Export Job.
3. The Export Automated Upgrade Job page displays. The page includes a link to the event raised for the export.

The job is exported as an XML file to the outbound/UpgradeJobImportExport directory on the File Share.

To import the exported job on another instance:

1. On the instance where you exported the upgrade job, download the exported file from the File Share. See Downloading files from the File Share.
2. On the instance where you want to update the settings, upload the file to that instance's File Share. See Uploading files to the File Share.
