When managing activated items, you always start by searching for the machine or registration certificate to work with. You can search for certificates based on:
Certificate search pages initially display with the following criteria:
Company name | You can only display machines and registration certificates for a single company at a time. If you can only manage activated items for your company, this field does not display.
Other users use the Company name field to select the end customer. |
LAC | A LAC that was activated onto the machine or registration certificate. To search using more than one LAC, click Add More LACs. |
Machine name | The name of the machine or registration certificate.
You may also be able to load a list of machines and registration certificates to search for. If this option is available, then an Enter List link displays next to the field. When you click Enter List, the Multiple Machine Input form displays. To type a comma-separated or return-separated list of machine and registration certificate names, from the Input by dropdown, select Manual. To load the list of machines and registration certificates from a file, select File load. Click Browse to search for and select the file. After selecting the file, click Load. After entering the names or loading the file, click Continue. The Machine name field is locked, and contains a message indicating that you have selected multiple machines or registration certificates. To clear the list, and enable the field, click Clear List. |
Locking ID | A locking ID that is on the machine. Registration certificates do not have locking IDs.
You may also be able to load a list of locking IDs to search for. If this option is available, then an Enter List link displays next to the field. When you click Enter List, the Multiple Locking ID Input form displays. To type a comma-separated or return-separated list of locking IDs, from the Input by dropdown, select Manual. To load the list of locking IDs from a file, select File load. Click Browse to search for and select the file. After selecting the file, click Load. After entering the locking IDs or loading the file, click Continue. The Locking ID field is locked, and contains a message indicating that you have selected multiple locking IDs. To clear the list, and enable the field, click Clear List. Note that if you provide both a list of machines and locking IDs, the results will only include machines that both have a name from the machine list AND a locking ID from the locking ID list. |
Target tag | A target tag that is associated with the machine or registration certificate. |
Upgrade type | Only used on the Search Certificates to Upgrade page. To only show upgrades that do not require a validation entitlement, select Free. To only show upgrades that do require a validation entitlement, select Paid. |
To display additional search criteria, click Advanced Search. The basic advanced criteria include:
Product line | The name of a product line that is activated on the machine or registration certificate. |
Group name | The name of a group that is assigned to an activated entitlement on the machine or registration certificate. |
Group ID | The pub ID of a group that is assigned to an activated entitlement on the machine or registration certificate. |
Machine status | Only available on the View Certificate search. To only view certificates with a specific status, select the status from the dropdown. By default, only active machines and registration certificates are included in the results. To view for disabled machines or registration certificates, select Disabled from the dropdown. To view both active and disabled machines or registration certifciates, select the blank option from the dropdown. |
Machine properties | The publisher may provide machine-specific properties you can use to search for the machine or registration certificate. Depending on the property, you either type the value into a field or select the value from a dropdown. |
Family | A product family that is activated on the machine or registration certificate.
For functions other than transferring machines or registration certificates, there may be multiple Family combo boxes with quantity fields. If you specify more than one family, then all of those families must be present in order for the machine or registration certificate to match the criteria. From each Family dropdown, select a product family that is activated on the machine or registration certificate. For each family, to restrict the quantity, select whether the quantity must be equal to, less than, or greater than a specified value, then type the value into the accompanying field. |
Product # | For functions other than transferring machines or registration certificates, there may be one or more Product # fields with associated quantity fields. If you specify more than one product, then all of those products must be present in order for the machine or registration certificate to match the criteria.
In each Product # field, type a product number that is activated on the machine or registration certificate. For each product, to restrict the quantity, select whether the quantity must be equal to, less than, or greater than a specified value, then type the value into the accompanying field. |
For functions other than transferring machines or registration certificates, you can also search based on products or families that are NOT present on the machines or registration certificates. The "not installed" criteria are in subsection with a "Not Installed" icon.
In this subsection, in each Product # field, type a product number that is NOT activated on the machines or registration certificates you want to work with.
From each Family combo box, select a family that is NOT present on the machines or registration certificates you want to work with.
If your search criteria match a large number of machines and registration certificates, then the results table may not show the total number of matching results, and will display something like "Showing 1-30 of 300+".
To display a form with the total count of matching results, click Get total count.
