Viewing upgrade job transactions and run results
Poetic records a transaction against the upgrade job when:
- The job is created
- A validation run is completed
- A production run is completed
- The job is inactivated
- The user updates:
- Activation configuration
- Order configuration
- Selection criteria
- Mapping
- Notification configuration
- Validation configuration
- Run schedule
Users can view the list of transactions.
For transactions generated when the job is run, the user can also download or send a report of the run results. The report includes:
- Job identification and output settings
- Run configuration for the run
- Summary of the run results (number of affected entitlements and machines, shipping information for physical products)
- Job configuration when the job was run
- List of affected entitlements and machines
The list of transactions is displayed on the Transaction tab of the Automated Upgrade Job Maintenance page.
You can also display the transaction list directly from the Search Automated Upgrade Jobs page. To do this:
- Click the Options link for the job for which to view the transactions.
- In the context menu, click View Transactions.
The Search Automated Upgrade Job Transactions form displays. The form includes search criteria to allow you to find a specific transaction.
When an upgrade job is run in either validation or execution mode, Poetic generates a report of the run results. To download the report for a run:
- Click the Options link for the run transaction.
- In the Options list, click Download report.
You can also email the report to one or more email addresses.
- Click the Options link for the run transaction.
- In the Options list, click Send report.
- On the Send Upgrade Job Run Report form, in the Email to field, type the email address to send the report to. Use commas to separate multiple addresses.
- In the Subject field, type a subject line for the email.
- In the Comments field, type the text of the email. The report will be attached to the email.
- Click Send.
