To create a new upgrade job, on the Search Automated Upgrade Jobs page, click Add a job.
The General tab of the Automated Upgrade Job Maintenance page displays.
For the new job:
Job pub ID | In the Job pub ID field, type the pub ID of the job. |
Job name | Required. In the Job name field, type the name of the job. |
Job description | In the Job description field, type a longer description of the upgrade job. The description might include notes as to how the job will be used. |
From the Upgrade type dropdown, select the upgrade type for the job.
The upgrade type controls the available options for configuring the upgrade job. Once you save the new job, you cannot change the upgrade type.
The available upgrade types are:
Notification only | When this type of job is run, no orders are generated and no entitlements or machines or registration certificates are affected.
A notification is sent to the eligible recipients. If count-based subscription is used, then for the eligible entitlements, the next delivery date and number of deliveries remaining can be updated. |
Free upgrade | When this type of job is run, either:

Paid upgrade | This type of job always marks entitlements or machines or registration certificates as upgradeable. When users perform the upgrade activation, they must provide proof in the form of a LAC that they are eligible for the upgrade. |
