Requesting a new event

To manually add a new event to the list:

  1. On the Search Events page, click Add an event.

    The Add Event page displays.

  2. On the Add Event page:
    Event name In the Event name field, type the name of the event.
    Pub ID In the Pub ID field, type the pub ID of the event.
    Event type To select the event type based on the code, click the Code radio button, then begin typing the code in the associated combo box. The list is filtered based on what you type. When the code you want is displayed, select it.

    To select the event type based on the description, click the Description radio button, then begin typing the description into the associated combo box. The list is filtered based on what you type. When the description you want is displayed, select it.

    Transaction code If applicable, from the Transaction code dropdown, type the transaction code this event is being raised for.

    The available values are from the ENT_MODIFY_ROOT_ACTION list. You select a transaction code if the event needs to trigger a rule in rules.xml to send a SetExternalEntitlement or SetExternalGroup message as a result.

    Event parameters In the Event parameters field, type the parameters for the event.

    The event type determines what parameters are required.

    Use semicolons to separate multiple parameters.

    Language From the Language dropdown, select the language to use for the event.
    Context From the Context dropdown, select the context to use for the event.
    Parameters message In the Parameters message field, if needed, type the extra information required by the event type.
  3. Click Save.

    The event is added to the list and processed the next time the event background job runs.
