Poetic uses queues to process several types of batch requests. This allows requests to be processed simultaneously. For the following types of requests, you can view the contents of the queues and the status of the requests in each queue.
Depending on your security privileges, you can also cancel a request.
To display the list of requests:
The Monitor Batches option also is available from the System Monitoring tab of the Site Maintenance menu.
When the Search Batch Jobs page first displays, the list includes all requests that are either running or waiting to run.
You can filter the list by:
Company name | The name of the company for which the request was created. You can only use the company name to select a specific company for which to display requests.
You can only search for companies that you have access to. End customers can only filter using their company or companies they are linked to. When you click Filter Jobs after providing company search criteria:
To change the company criteria, type new criteria into the field, then click Filter Jobs. |
Job name | The name given to the request when it was created. You can only search for job names for companies that you have access to. |
Job type | The type of request. |
Job status | The current status of the request processing. Requests may be not started, processing, completed, or canceled.
There is also an option to include both not started and processing requests. This is the default option. |
Queue name | The name of the queue. |
Request date | A range of dates during which the request was created. Please note that if the system is set up to archive completed requests, you may only be able to view requests that were completed within a limited time period. |
Only display requests I submitted | Limits the results to requests that you submitted. |
To filter the list, provide filter criteria, then click Filter Jobs.
The request list is grouped by queue. For the requests in each queue, the list includes:
Event ID | The identifier of the event used to process the request. |
Request Date | The date and time the request was created. |
Company Name | The name of the company for which the request was created. If the company is not a company you belong to or are associated with, then the column is blank. |
Job Status | The current status of the request. Requests may be:

Jobs Ahead | For requests that have not yet started, the number of requests that are ahead of them in the queue. |
Total Items | The total number of items in the request. For example, for a batch activation, this is the number of machines. For a batch rehost, this is the number of to/from machine pairs. |
# Processed | For a request that is processing or completed, the total number of items that have finished processing. |
# Errors | For a request that is processing or completed, the number of items that contained errors. |
Est Time to Start | For requests that have not yet started, the estimated amount of time until the request will start processing. |
Est Run Time | The estimated amount of time it will take to complete the processing. |
Job Name | The name given to the request when it was created. If the company is not a company you belong to or are associated with, then the column is blank. |
If you are able to view the details for a request, then a View link displays for that row.
Click the View link to display the View Job Details form.
At the top of the form is a summary of the request:
Company name | The name of the company for which the request was created. |
Job type | The type of request. |
Job name | The name given to the request when it was created. |
Queue pub ID | The pub ID of the queue the request is assigned to. |
Event ID | The identifier of the event used to process the request. |
Job status | The current status of the request. Requests may be:

Request Date | The date and time the request was created. |
Requested by | The first and last name of the user who created the request. |
Below the summary are the parameters set by the when they created the request:
Process mode | Whether the request is for validation only or for execution. |
Error handling | Whether to stop processing the request when an error is found. |
Send report to | The email addresses that receive a summary of the request results. |
Result output | How to send certificate information for the request. |
Send keys to | The email addresses that receive the certificate information for the request. |
Below the request parameters is information about the number of items in the request:
Total items | The total number of items in the request. |
Total details | The total number of details in the request. Only displays for completed requests.

Items processed | The number of items that have been processed. |
Errors | The number of items with errors in the request. |
Below the item information is information about the processing time, including:
If you are able to cancel a running or not started request, then the View Job Details form includes a Cancel Job button.
When you click the button, the request is canceled. A request that has not started processing yet is canceled immediately and removed from the queue.
If the request is processing, then the items currently being processed will usually be completed before the request is removed.
