Access to Poetic functionality is controlled via security roles. Each user is assigned a security role. Each security role is in turn assigned a security level. The level provides default security settings for the security role and helps you to group the security roles.
Poetic provides an initial set of security roles, one for each security level. You can also create custom security roles for a Poetic instance and adjust the privileges assigned to each role.
Each user initially is assigned the default security role for the company type their company belongs to. Users can then be assigned a different security role depending on the tasks they need to perform within Poetic.
You manage security roles from the List Security Roles page. To display the page:
To add a security role, click Add a security role.
To edit a security role, click its Edit link.
On the Security Role Maintenance page:

Once you save the new security role, you cannot change the role ID. |

Once you save the new security role, you cannot change the security level. |
Ranking | In the Ranking field, type a numerical ranking for the security role. Each role must have a unique ranking.
A role with more privileges should be assigned a greater ranking. For example, an anonymous role may have a ranking of 0 or 1, but a system role may be given a ranking such as 99 to make sure no other roles outrank it. The security setting CAN_ASSIGN_ROLE_AT_ANY_RANKING controls whether a user can assign roles that have a rank less than or equal to their own. |
