Regions are used in Poetic to organize countries into groups. The current types of regions are:
Call Center | Used in notification templates.
Determines how notifications are CC'ed or BCC'ed to the publisher's internal mailboxes. |
Contract Number Generation | Used to determine how to generate the contract number based on where the customer is located. |
Fulfillment | Used to determine:
Each supplier belongs to a fulfillment region. When orders are placed, the ship-to for the order determines the fulfillment region for the order. Only a supplier from that fulfillment region can fulfill the order. When an automated upgrade job is run, users can select a fulfillment region to include for the job. |
Publisher Company | Usually used to group countries for the purposes of revenue recognition.
For example, the publisher may group all revenue from the U.S. and Canada into a single North American region. |
Price | Used to group countries to determine the price to charge for orders.
For example, the U.S. and Canada may belong to a North American region that is charged one price for a product. France and Germany may belong to a separate European region that is charged a different price for the same product. |
Sales Region | Allows the publisher to group countries based on their sales regions.
Sales regions are only used when generating Poetic reports. |
Tax Region | Used to group countries for the purposes of setting the tax codes associated with each product. The countries in a tax region should use the same tax codes. |
