Poetic allows you to merge one company's assets into another company. Possible reasons to merge companies include to reflect that a company has acquired another company, or to consolidate duplicate companies.
A merge moves all of the contracts, groups, entitlements, and certificates from the merge-from company to the merge-to company. You also have options to:
- Move all of the users from the old company to the new company. Poetic does not check for duplicate users.
- If the user's role is available in the new company, the user keeps their current role.
- If the user's role is not available in the new company, they are assigned the default role for the new company.
- Disable the merge-from company when the merge is complete. If you disable the merge-from company, any renewal orders in progress are moved to the merge-to company. Completed orders are not moved.
An additional setting determines whether to move disabled/inactive users, entitlements, and contracts to the merge-to company.
If the merge-from company is an inactive company, and the merge-to company is active, then any active items from the merge-from company are set to inactive when they are moved.
- On the Administration menu, click Tools.
